CES Futures received the award for its $429 million buyout of Tribute Financial completed on Feb. 16, which created a Hong Kong-based, privately held global leader in commodities trading with annual revenues in excess of $450 million.

The transaction was funded by a combination of debt and equity. The debt funding, consisting of $260 million senior secured credit facilities, was arranged by Morgan Stanley on behalf of CES Futures. The remaining $194.5 million cash equity contribution was facilitated by XiTan Partners, one of the largest Asian investment firms, with participation by Morgan Stanley Private Equity.
Founded in 1990 by Max Shimon, the new CES Futures now has a worldwide employee base of approximately 1,100 employees in over 30 countries through a network of over 50 direct offices and over 1,100 affiliates and partners.
